2. AGENCY: Conference Board of Missions
FUND: ADVANCE SPECIALS
PURPOSE: To enable ministries in the bounds of the conference, to
raise funds. The Annual Conference adopts advance specials at the
June Annual Conference meeting prior to the calendar year the
advance special is effective.

3. AGENCY: Conference Board of Missions
FUND: EMERGING CONGREGATIONS FUND (ECF)
PURPOSE: Grants are made to new church situations for programs and
staff support. Refer to the Conference rules Division VI.V. Grants are
generally made to coincide with the appointment year (July1 through
June 30). Grant amounts vary according to need. District
Superintendents make recommendations on grant amounts. It is
expected that a new congregation will receive a grant from this fund
or no more than five years, with the amount of the grant decreasing
in each year.

4. AGENCY: Conference Board of Missions
FUND: EQUITABLE COMPENSATION
PURPOSE: To provide minimum salary support in instances of established need. Refer to Conference Standing Rules.

Deadline: This fund runs calendar year (January 1 thru December 31); December 1 for first half of following year; and April 1 for second half of the current year. Forms are available from your District Superintendent.
5. AGENCY: Conference Board of Missions
FUND: ETHNIC MINORITY CONGREGATIONS FUND (EMCF)
PURPOSE: Established in 1977, grants are made to ethnic minority churches and ministries where minority leadership is developing and directing ethnic ministries and programs. Funds come from special askings of churches. The maximum grant in one year is $10,000. The project must have at least 50% ethnic minority leadership involving in planning, administration and implementation.

FUND: NATIVE AMERICAN AWARENESS SUNDAY (NAS)
PURPOSE: This special offering was established at the 1988 General Conference. 50% of the offering is to remain in the Annual Conference to develop and strengthen its Native American ministry. The other 50% is sent to the

FUND: REVOLVING LOAN FUND (RLF)
PURPOSE: Loans of up to $200,000 are made to churches at an interest of 6.25% fixed per annum. Loans are secured by a Note and recorded Deed of Trust. This fund is used for loans to churches and guarantees on UMDF loans, with priority given to new construction and renovations. Loan availability varies with the amount of the fund not currently loaned out.

FUND: GOLDEN CROSS FUND
PURPOSE: Medical emergency funds for laity and clergy. Amounts available for medical emergency are determined by need and circumstance. Letter of reference required. Totally confidential.

FUND: PATTON FUNDS
PURPOSE: The Board of Missions makes recommendations to the United Methodist Foundation for distribution of Patton Funds from three of its four designated purposes. 40% of the fund is designated for church development; approx. 20% for national mission causes, and 20% for global mission causes; The Board of Ordained Ministry uses 20% for theological scholarships. Amounts vary annually, and the request must meet the guidelines of the recommending agency.

10. AGENCY: Youth Ministry Council
FUND: YOUTH SERVICE FUND (YSF)
PURPOSE: To enable youth to attend youth program ministries in the California-Nevada Annual Conference. Grants usually range from $200 to $500. Each project must submit a request for a specific amount. Funds must be for youth ministries. Funds are not intended for payment of personnel or transportation costs.

11. AGENCY: General Board of Church & Society
FUND:
PURPOSE: To develop outreach ministries, that strengthens the ethnic local church(es) witness and mission. This funding not available for: salaries, for purchase of equipment, and/or for purely administrative components.

12. AGENCY: General Board of Discipleship
FUND:
PURPOSE: Aimed at developing and strengthening the ethnic local church(es) witness and mission in the areas of Christian education, United Methodist Men, Laity, Worship, Stewardship, Evangelism, Discipleship and Curriculum. Project request must be specifically related to Discipleship concerns.

13. AGENCY: General Board of Global Ministries
FUND: DEVELOPMENT AND STRENGTHENING OF THE
PURPOSE: Provides assistance to ethnic local churches in the areas of salary supplements, church extension and outreach ministries. Amounts available are: Salary supplement $5,000; Church Extension $25,000; Outreach Ministries $10,000. Church extension grants are one-time only; other grants beyond the first year are made in declining scale and can only be funded up to three years.

14. AGENCY: General Board of Global Ministries
FUND: UNITED METHODIST DEVELOPMENT FUND (UMDF)
PURPOSE: Supports the mission of the church by making first mortgage loans to United Methodist churches, district, city societies, district unions or Annual Conference church extension agencies for the purchase, construction, expansion, or major improvement of churches, parsonages, and mission buildings. Amounts available up to $1,013,000. Funds are not available for the purchase of organs, bell towers, stained glass, facades, landscaping, or painting and decorating. Conference Board of Missions must recommend to the General Board of Global Ministries for action to be taken, therefore, this application must submitted to the Conference Board of Missions prior to General Board's deadline date. Please allow 6 months to 1 year in advance for planning of these loans.

18. AGENCY: General Commission on Religion and Race
FUND: THE MINORITY GROUP SELF-DETERMINATION FUND
PURPOSE: The empowerment of racial and ethnic minority people within and outside the church. Amount available is up to $20,000. Ethnic-minority persons must comprise more than 50% of the membership of the decision-making committee for the project.
