Side-By-Side: Come and See
![]() enlarge>> |
We welcome individuals or small groups who wish to see the ministry of Side-By-Side in person. Pictured here is a youth group and counselors who dared to "take a walk in another's sneakers" (see description below). Visits need to be arranged in advance. The best time to come is weekday mornings, or weekends by special arrangement. We are located at Loaves & Fishes in Sacramento. Please call or email the Director, Rev. Linda, to make arrangements to Loaves & Fishes. Phone: (916) 443-4362; email: revlinda@sbcglobal.net.
For a more in-depth experience and understanding of homelessness, we offer mini-immersion experiences. These are especially effective with youth groups or adults:
Walk in Anothers Sneakers
A Homeless Awareness Walk
(It could Change Your Life!)
Imagine having no home to go to, no permanent place to sleep tonight,
no kitchen or dining room table to gather round, no family, few friends.
Imagine being ignored and even avoided by people you see on the street.
Come with us and experience a day like this from the perspective of a homeless person. We begin with orientation and prayer at Loaves & Fishes, a homeless services organization. Then we lace up our sneakers and walk about 2 hours through downtown
Take a different kind of spiritual journey and walk side-by-side with us!
