GBHEM Awards Loans and Scholarships to 40 Cal-Nev Students

GBHEM's Office of Loans and Scholarships will be awarding more than 2,600 students a total of $5.3 million in award money for 2011 – including nearly $75,000 distributed among 40 students in the California-Nevada Annual Conference.

Five restorative justice programs for youths in Kentucky, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Africa receive support through United Methodist Special Sunday
The United Methodist General Board of Church and Society (GBCS) approved $131,422 in Human Relations Day grants when directors met in Arlington, Virginia for their spring meeting this month.

Giving Decline Means Disappointed Scholarship Applicants

A 13-percent decline in giving to Student Day, coupled with increases in eligible applicants and reductions in other funds, means several hundred United Methodist scholarship applicants are likely to be disappointed this year unless significant donations are made on line before June.
