Cycle 4 of CLayM@Home will begin March 4, 2013 - with Retreats April 27-28 and June 8-9.
ClayM@Home (DVD training series) provides instruction through distance learning with approximately four months to complete the training.
This will be the last time this conference year that CLayM@Home will be offered.

CLayM Classes Begin Soon

It's time to register for the upcoming Certified Lay Minister (CLayM) classes. Cycle 2 of CLayM@Home will begin Monday, Sept. 3. Retreats will take place Oct. 13-14 and Dec. 1-2 as a part of this course.
CLayMAway, the residential program, will run Oct. 29-Nov. 2 and Jan. 21-25.

CLayM Announces Changes as Registration Opens

Registration has opened for the Certified Lay Minister (CLayM) program for 2012-13, which trains laypersons for effective and expanded service in the local church and community.
There are three ways to take CLayM training.
CLayMAway – a two-week residential training.
CLayM@Home – training via DVD.
CLayMTEL – online program with the Pacific School of Religion

Anne Dilenschneider Leads Transformational Leadership Course This Month in Stockton

Anne Dilenschneider returns to California in January to teach the annual CLayM pastors' course in spirituality and leadership, as she has done each year since 1999.
This year she will be offering a mid-week, 11-hour (1.1 CEU credits) Transformational Leadership course for clergy and laity on Tuesday evening, January 17 (6-9 p.m.) and on Wednesday, January 18 (8 a.m.-4 p.m.) at Grace United Methodist Church in Stockton.

The final CLayM@Home class for this Conference year will begin on January 1. This DVD-based training class includes two mandatory retreats – Feb 18-19 and April 28-29.
The cost is $299 for each of the two sessions of DVD classes (does not include the cost of lodging at the retreat site).

Recruitment is underway for the Conference Certified Lay Ministry program's next CLayMAway course, which is offered in two class blocks beginning in November (Nov. 14-18, 2011 and Jan. 16-20, 2012). CLayM@Home, the "stay-at-home" version of Certified Lay Minister training, will have three cycles this conference year, each broken into two sessions – with the first cycle beginning on July 9.
Most of the course work for CLayM@Home is done through independent study utilizing DVDs, but there are two mandatory weekend retreats at the end of each session.

Registration is open for the second cycle of CLayM@Home, the DVD-based Conference Lay Minister training.
The second cycle will begin January 1 and end May 22, and will include two mandatory retreats, February 12-13 and May 21-22.
CLayMAway, the traditional Conference Lay Minister training, takes place in a group setting, with live lectures. It is held at the United Methodist Center in West Sacramento.

The Conference Lay Minister (CLayM) program is now ready to receive applications – both for the traditional program, CLayMAway, and also for the new CLayM@Home, which allows participants to study largely on line or by DVD. The same application will be used for both programs.
