The communications office is responsible for telling the story of the 360 local churches and 78,000 United Methodists in Northern California and Northern Nevada. This includes communications within the annual conference, to the larger global United Methodist family, and to the secular world.
The communications office publishes the weekly e-newsletter, Instant Connection. The latest news and resources are emailed to subscribers, churches, lay leadership, and each clergyperson. The office is also responsible for the annual conference's press/media relations efforts. The communications office connects via social media, Facebook, and Twitter, and undergirds the work of special initiatives such as Imagine No Malaria, http://www.calnevimagine.org.
The communications office also can assist with:
- Website development
- Creating press/marketing plans and press releases
- Crisis media management strategies
- Video production, and
- Online registration management.
