EMBRACE CHURCH East Bay, a new church plant of the California-Nevada Annual Conference, is seeking a dedicated individual who loves Jesus and has a big heart for children to help develop and oversee a growing ministry for young kids in a growing church community. Here is the full job description: Position Title: Children’s Ministry Director (Part Time) Reports To: Pastor Date: October 1, 2016 Position Summary: Embrace Church is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual who has a desire and vision to help families with young children grow in their faith and love for Jesus Christ through weekly programming and through special events. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: • Provide leadership to the children’s ministry. • Create environments, activities and curriculum for each age group that facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth, including the development of a children’s worship experience. • Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to support children’s ministry. • Maintain strategy for recruiting and assimilating new children and families. • Assist in the development of children’s ministry goals in conjunction with the Leadership Team. • Develop evaluations to measure effectiveness of children’s ministry program in meeting church’s goals. • Submit budgetary recommendations to Leadership Team. • Maintain church’s child protection policy within the children’s ministry program. • Collaborate with the Pastor to work on special assignments as needed. Qualifications: • Some seminary education or training in Christian education preferred. • 3 years of experience in working with children in a church setting – either as staff or volunteer. Physical Demands: • Subject to substantial repetitive motions of the body. • Exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. • Viewing of computer screen for long periods of time. Salary/Compensation: • Salary will be based on a part-time (20 hrs per week) position and is negotiable and commensurate with experience.
