El Cerrito UMC Communications Coordinator
El Cerrito United Methodist Church is seeking a part-time Communications Coordinator to be responsible for website updates, press releases, social media, e-newsletters, church publications, worship visual aid preparation and support and assisting with general communications projects. The ideal candidate will have served in a church or non-profit environment, use social media with facility, possess an excellent command of the English language and be able to communicate clearly and concisely with correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. In addition, he or she should demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools. The ideal candidate will possess a servant's heart and team spirit. Initiative, persistence, and follow-through are also ideal character traits.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:
Post content to social media and website; Assist in development and maintenance of e-newsletters; Assist in creating weekly worship publications; Develop content for and maintain website and social media; Develop marketing/advertising plan and materials in conjunction with Pastor; Assist in fund raising opportunities;
Education: Associate Degree Desired, portfolio submission or examples of previous work is highly encouraged and can be substituted for degree.
Experience / Qualifications:
Work from home. This is a part-time position, 6-8 Hours per week. Hours are flexible and vary during program year; must be able to attend at least one meeting per week and Sunday worship most of the time. Salary range: $12-16/hr. commensurate with experience and education.
Reports to Pastor with oversight from the ECUMC Staff Parish Relations Committee
